It was an action packed 10 days but some of the highlights include: riding a gondola in Venice, seeing Davide in Firenze, eating gelato from a world champion gelateria in San Gimignano, hiking in Assisi, seeing the ruins of Pompeii, and having the life changing experience of gazing at Michelangelo's masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel. Some of us jumped into the Mediterranean Sea....some participated in a Tuscan cooking class.....and we all stayed in a converted farmhouse in the Lazio countryside. So many memories!
The students were incredibly appreciative of everything they saw and of everyone we met along the way. The kids would gasp and applaud whenever we passed anything beautiful! Wherever we went, locals and tourists alike could not believe how respectful, excited, and just in general wonderful our MHS students were. This is the norm for our school and I'm proud that we were able to represent MHS in Italy so well! It was an emotional voyage and one that we will remember forever.
